A Brew Review…
Trillium Brewing – Boston, Massachusetts – The last (and only) time I was in Boston, I wasn’t even old enough to legally drink, so this trip was basically a long-overdue redemption tour. First stop: Trillium Fort Point. And wow… it felt enormous. Full taproom, big patio, and a rooftop deck that makes you wonder if you should just move in and start paying rent. Instant favorite.. –>

📍 Sacred Profane Brewing – Biddeford, Maine – This stop was part of a Thanksgiving trip my girlfriend and I took to spend the holiday in the Kennebunkport area — a part of Maine I hadn’t explored yet. I actually vlogged the whole trip for the YouTube channel, but wanted to share this one here because it deserves its own moment. Cold weather, great company, and an aggressive amount of eating and drinking… pretty much the perfect setup.
🍺 The Beer? Exactly what I expected in the best way. Sacred Profane continues to do what they do really well — clean, balanced, insanely drinkable beers. I’ve been to their Portland location before and already have a hat to prove it, so this was all about enjoying the beer and the moment rather than adding to the collection.
✨ The Vibe? Uber cool. Tons of indoor and outdoor space with a layout that somehow feels both relaxed and dialed-in at the same time. Add in good company and that Maine brewery energy, and it just worked.
🥨 The Food? We had dinner plans, so we didn’t eat — but I won’t lie, the menu looked loaded with comfort food that would’ve been perfect on a cold Maine day. Definitely something I’d prioritize next time.
🧢 Merch? Solid stuff as always, but since I already had a Sacred Profane hat from the Portland spot, I exercised rare self-control and passed this time.
🧼 Restrooms? Clean, easy to find, and zero complaints. Always appreciated.

Bottom line: Sacred Profane Brewing delivered exactly what I was hoping for — great beer, a killer space, and the kind of stop that makes a trip feel complete. Huge thanks to my girlfriend’s sister, @yourmaineconcierge, who knows Maine better than most people know their own fridge. If you’re anywhere near Biddeford or Portland, do yourself a favor and hit one of their locations. You won’t regret it. 🍻

📍 Democracy Brewing – Boston, Massachusetts – This was the official first stop of my Boston trip. My girlfriend was out there working, I flew in for some unreal weather, and naturally turned the whole visit into a full-blown brewery tour with a side of sightseeing and overconsumption. We weren’t ready to eat yet, but being a one-minute walk from our hotel made this a dangerously perfect kickoff.
🍺 The Beer? A mixed bag, honestly. Some solid pours, some forgettable ones — but there was one beer I absolutely loved… and of course I can’t remember the name because I’m incredibly consistent in my chaos. Still, enough good stuff in the lineup to earn a respectable score.
✨ The Vibe? This place nailed atmosphere. Right in the heart of the city with a unique, almost classy feel — the kind of brewery that makes you feel more put-together than you actually are. Loved being surrounded by city energy while drinking good beer.
🥨 The Food? We didn’t eat this time, but the menu looked way better than your typical brewery fare. Legit impressive, and I’d absolutely plan to eat here next time I’m back in Boston.
🧢 Merch? Didn’t love the overall selection… but I still bought a hat, because I apparently collect hats that only I ever see. A private museum of poor financial decisions.
🧼 Restrooms? Very clean, spacious, functional, and zero horror stories — which always deserves recognition.

Bottom line: Democracy Brewing was a strong first stop and a great way to launch a Boston beer run. Killer location, cool vibe, and enough beer wins to make it worth a return visit. I’d definitely drink here again — and next time, I’m eating too. 🍻

📍 Ipswich Ale Brewery – Ipswich, Massachusetts – This one takes me back. To the era when my girlfriend had to work back east for nearly a year and the only redeeming part was flying out to see her and turning those visits into brewery-hopping missions. This stop happened on our drive to her sister’s wedding in Maine. I flew into Boston, she finished work, and then—because she’s a saint—we drove north and stopped at every brewery I pointed at like a kid spotting ice cream. Ipswich Ale was one of those stops, and it turned out to be a really good call.
🍺 The Beer? Solid across the board. No gimmicks, no nonsense—just well-made beer that reminded me why some classics stick around. The kind of lineup where you’re not chasing hype, you’re just enjoying the hell out of what’s in your glass.
✨ The Vibe? This place is huge and dangerously easy to get lost in—in the best way. The panel wagon tap wall alone could’ve kept me distracted for an embarrassing amount of time. Between the space, the history, and the layout, I definitely wandered more than once and probably forgot what beer I was holding. No regrets.
🥨 The Food? Hot, fresh pretzels that showed up exactly when they were needed and absolutely delivered. Soft, salty, and gone way too fast. Zero complaints.
🧢 Merch? Here’s where things got weird—in a very East Coast way. I was genuinely shocked there were no hats. Apparently, beanies reign supreme out there, especially in the winter. Strange concept coming from Arizona, where a beanie is basically a cry for help 350 days out of the year. That said, they had some awesome merch otherwise, and I was still tempted.
🧼 Restrooms? Clean, easy to find, and no weird surprises. Always appreciated.

Bottom line: Ipswich Ale Brewery was one of those unexpected wins on a road trip full of good stops. I don’t know when I’ll make it back, but I really hope I do soon. And if you’re anywhere near Ipswich and haven’t been, do check it out!

📍 Mother Road Brewing Company – Flagstaff, Arizona
Flagstaff is always a yearly tradition for us — equal parts Tequila Sunrises, brewery hopping, and pretending the elevation isn’t affecting us. This visit was a little different though… it was my first stop as an investor 😂 I came across their StartEngine fundraiser, liked what I saw, and decided to invest in something I genuinely believe in 🍻 So let’s call this trip a casual “checking in to make sure my money went to a good cause.”
🍺 The Beer?
As always, the beers were great. Mother Road is one of those places that just stays consistent — solid across the board. I grabbed a couple of their Variety 12 packs to bring home because, frankly, that’s the responsible thing to do. Easy drinkers, flavorful options, and beers that somehow taste even better at altitude.
🎶 The Vibe?
Classic Flagstaff brewery energy — relaxed, welcoming, and always buzzing. It felt good to be back, and even better knowing they’re clearly putting investment dollars to work. You can tell things are moving in the right direction, and I’m looking forward to coming back soon to see even more progress… preferably with a longer hang this time.
🍔 The Bites?
We didn’t eat on this visit since we were headed to the homecoming game, but we had time for a couple beers before rolling out. That said, the food here has always been great, so this was purely a timing issue — not a menu issue. Another reason a return trip is already on the calendar.
🧢 Merch & Beer-to-Go?
Part of my investment included a hat, so I didn’t grab one this time — but I’ve already got a couple in the collection anyway. Merch game is still strong, and the beer-to-go situation made it very easy to extend the experience back at home.
🧼 Restrooms?
Clean, easy to find, and exactly what you want when you’re bouncing between beers and gearing up for game day. No complaints.

📍 Belfry Brewery – Cottonwood, Arizona
It’s been a while since most of these photos were taken, and honestly… I miss visiting Cottonwood as often as I used to. This was a fun trip, and the last photo in the set actually comes from a separate run up to Page. We decided to drive through Cottonwood so our friends visiting from Maine could see it, and there was no way I was not stopping at Belfry. At minimum, I had to grab a few road beers for some proper glamour shots. Priorities.
🍺 The Beer?
Belfry has always been a solid stop for me. Across 4- 5 visits, the beers have been consistently good and exactly what you want when you’re bouncing around Old Town Cottonwood. Easy-drinking options, enough variety to keep things interesting, and perfect “one more before we go” beers, which is dangerous in the best way.
🎶 The Vibe?
Right in the heart of Old Town, Belfry feels like part brewery, part local hangout, part Cottonwood postcard. Historic building, lively energy, and a patio scene that makes it very easy to lose track of time — especially when you’re showing the town off to out-of-staters.
🍔 The Bites?
Here’s the confession: despite multiple stops, I still haven’t eaten there. Not because I don’t want to — quite the opposite. I’ve seen the food, smelled the food, and heard enough about the food to know it’s legit. The problem is there are so many good food options in Cottonwood that we always seem to roll in right after eating. I’m overdue for a return trip with food as the main objective.
🧢 Merch & Beer-to-Go?
A hat definitely joined the collection. At the time, the merch selection was a little limited, but everything they had was well done and on-brand. Sometimes less is more — especially when the logo looks good on a hat rack already overflowing at home.
🧼 Restrooms?
Clean, cool, easy to find, and no horror stories — which honestly puts them ahead of the curve for a busy Old Town stop. Solid experience all around.

📍 Historic Brewing Co. – Flagstaff, Arizona
Back to Flagstaff we go, doing our best to remember some of the good parts of 2025. Historic Brewing has always been one of my favorite stops up north, and this visit just reinforced that. We’ve been to their Williams location a few times before and thoroughly enjoyed the pizza there, so expectations were already set pretty high.
🍺 The Beer?
As solid as ever. Even though we had just finished lunch, it was still impossible not to grab a beer or two. Cold, well-made, and exactly what you want in Flagstaff – especially when you’re reminiscing about past years and future trips.
🍕 The Bites?
We didn’t eat this time around since lunch was already handled, but based on past visits (and very fond pizza memories), I’m confident the food here is still top-notch. Next year’s plan already includes hot pizza and multiple beers… for research purposes.
🌄 The Vibe?
Historic just feels right. Cozy, lively, and perfectly suited for a college town with a strong beer culture. It’s the kind of place you can drop into year after year and it still feels familiar in the best way.
🧢 Merch & Beer-to-Go?
An Historic NAU-themed hat joined my ever-growing collection, because I also have a hat addiction. Between the beer, the branding, and the location, they make it very hard to leave empty-handed.
🧼 Restrooms?
Very basic, but functional, and doing exactly what they need to do — which is all you can really ask for after a few pints.
OUR 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 REVIEW:

Food: 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 (based on past Williams visits)

Bottom Line:
Historic Brewing is a must-stop every time we’re in f from now on. We’ll be back again in 2026, and I’m already looking forward to hot pizza, cold beer, and adding another chapter to the memories made up north.

📍 Grand Canyon Brewery + Distillery – Page, Arizona
Driving five hours from Phoenix late on a Friday night isn’t my idea of a relaxing short weekend… but my girlfriend and her friends made it more than worth it. And since I apparently refuse to go anywhere without finding a brewery, this trip was a no-brainer. We hit Grand Canyon Brewery + Distillery for lunch right between hiking Lower and Upper Antelope Canyon, and honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better.
🍺 The Beer (and Spirits)?
Plenty of solid beer options plus a few cocktails to keep things interesting. Between flights, pints, and mixed drinks, everyone found something they liked — which is impressive after miles of hiking and desert heat.
🍕 The Bites?
Fantastic. We split a few things, including pizza and a maple chicken sandwich, and everything hit exactly when it needed to. Hearty, flavorful, and the perfect reward after squeezing through slot canyons and pretending we weren’t completely exhausted.
🌄 The Vibe?
Great space, relaxed atmosphere, and exactly what you want in Page after a long day of hiking. Comfortable, welcoming, and a place you can actually sit down, slow down, and enjoy yourself.
🧢 Merch & Beer-to-Go?
I already own a hat and a couple of growlers, but that didn’t stop me from browsing — their merch is on point and plentiful. I’ve now been to their Williams, Flagstaff, and Page locations, and somehow they’ve managed to make each one feel unique while still very much Grand Canyon.
🧼 Restrooms?
Clean, easy to find, and appreciated more than usual after hours in the desert sun.

I can’t say when I’ll be back in Page again, but I know exactly where I’ll be if I am. Great food, solid beer, strong cocktails, and a perfect post-hike stop that absolutely earns its place on the itinerary.

📍 Phantom Fox Beer Co. – Mesa, Arizona – I’ve made it out to Phantom Fox a few times now and every visit just confirms it: if I lived any closer, this place would absolutely drain my bank account and become one of my “regulars.” It’s a dangerously easy spot to settle in for “just one more.”
🍺 The Beer? Phantom Fox has a solid variety of beers from easy-drinkers to hop bombs and there’s always something new on tap. They have a way of making you feel like you’re missing out if you don’t try everything.
✨ The Vibe? Modern and welcoming without trying too hard. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to sit around all day convincing yourself you’re being “productive.” My drinking buddy joined me this round showing off some Brewtiful Adventures merch, making my day even better.
🍽️ The Food? Their food partnership with Goat and Ram Pizza is genius. We split a pepperoni and sausage, and it paired perfectly with beer. Pizza and beer, who knew? (Everyone knew. But this combo really hit the spot.)
🧢 Merch? Phantom Fox keeps it simple but solid. I grabbed a hat to add to the ever-growing collection because at this point, it’s less about “need” and more about my OCD.
🧼 Restrooms? Clean, functional, and not a disaster zone after a busy Saturday, which in brewery terms, is basically a gold medal.
OUR 🍺🍺🍺🍺 REVIEW:
Beer: 🍺🍺🍺
Food: 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Service: 🍺🍺🍺

Bottom line: Phantom Fox is the kind of place that makes you wish your “local” was a little closer to Mesa. Great beer variety and pizza that doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out on one of the East Valley’s better beer excuses.

📍 Oak Creek Brewing Co. – Sedona, Arizona
This was our second stop on the way to Flagstaff for NAU Homecoming and Tequila Sunrise. Instead of hitting their bar and grill in town, we decided to go straight to where the magic actually happens, the brewery itself and I’m glad we did. It’s not the fanciest spot in Sedona by any stretch, but it’s tucked off the beaten path, way less crowded, and a perfect place to chill before re-entering the chaos of a college weekend.
🍺 The Beer?
We grabbed a flight and a pint while waiting for the rest of our group to make it up from the valley. Solid lineup, easy drinking, nothing too heavy before a long night ahead. And the best part? They “brewed too much” and had a flash sale… which is how I ended up leaving with a couple cases of beer. I’ll gladly trade 48 beers for the cost of a hat joining my collection any day.
🍕 The Bites?
We didn’t eat this round, mostly because we had just annihilated some loaded tots at the last stop. It looks like they usually have pizza available (a big win in my book), but not today. Next time, we’ll check out the grill location and give the food a proper shot.
🌄 The Vibe?
The interior was just okay, nothing like the nicer setup at their grill, but the patio is where it’s at. Huge, relaxed, quiet, and the perfect place to hang until our caravan to Flagstaff assembled. Great shade, good beer, and zero pressure to rush.
🧢 Merch & Beer-to-Go?
No hats, no collectibles, no new additions to the Brewtiful Adventures museum of headwear. But again, walking out with two cases of beer for basically pocket change? Hard to complain.
🧼 Restrooms?
Nothing special. A little rough around the edges, but absolutely fine in a pinch, especially after a flight and a pint.
OUR 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 REVIEW:
Beer: 🍺🍺🍺
Food: N/A

Bottom Line:
Oak Creek Brewing is the quieter, more laid-back side of Sedona drinking, a big patio, good beer, and zero fuss. Perfect stop before a road trip north!

Lake Pleasant Brewing in Phoenix, AZ- I hate to admit it, but I’ve only been here a four or five times and I can’t figure out why.
Lake Pleasant has some great beers, a friendly atmosphere and some fun things to while enjoying them both. The first time I visited I was so concerned about the beer, i didn’t even realize they had a little mini arcade happening in the back. So, last visit we played some games, drank a couple flights and watched a little TV and had a great time before heading off to our next stop. Everyone is very helpful and friendly and each visit I have always grabbed a few 4 packs to take home to enjoy later.
Food? Food trucks only and I have yet to try one. However, every time I’ve been, customers have brought their own food, so that’s an option.
Restrooms? Clean, working and fully stocked, so no issues.
Merch? I got a hat for my collection on the first visit and they have plenty of other great looking stuff to choose from too.
Lake Pleasant feels like a well kept secret to me. I tend to day drink most weekends, so it has always been easy to get a seat, talk to the staff and enjoy the atmosphere. If you haven’t been you should go soon!
